Activate with Extension Icon & Play

Quick Start: Click on the Pericles extension icon and press 'Play'. The tool will begin reading the visible text, starting from the top of the page and continuing until the end.

Smart Scrolling: Pericles automatically adjusts to your page scrolling. For a more precise reading control, explore the subsequent guide sections.

Read from a Specific Point

Spot-On Narration: Want to dive into a particular section of a document? Right-click on your desired starting point and select "Read from here." Pericles will narrate from that point onward, continuing until the end of the page.

Seamless Transition: If Pericles is already reading, no worries. Just use this option and it will smoothly pause and begin narrating from your new chosen spot.

Narrate Selected Text

Focused Listening: Sometimes, you might want to hear only a specific section. Simply highlight the desired text, right-click, and choose "Read selection."

End of Selection Notice: After Pericles completes narrating your chosen segment, it will pause, ensuring you don't miss or hear anything unintended.

Experience Documents & Google Docs

Document Upload: Ready to listen to your documents? Click on the "Upload PDF" button. This will navigate you to our dedicated Document Viewer on the Pericles website.

How It Works: Our editor seamlessly transforms your documents into HTML format, enabling Pericles to narrate them with ease.

Select Your Voice & Explore Available Options

Accessing Voice Settings: Click on the cog icon to open the settings panel. Within the first tab, you'll encounter an autocomplete selection form. This lets you choose your preferred voice by searching voice names, associated countries, or languages.

Modify Volume, Reading Rate, and Voice Pitch

Fine-Tune Your Experience: Utilize the horizontal sliders in the settings to personalize the volume, pitch, and reading rate of Pericles. Whether you prefer a faster-paced narration or a deeper voice, tailor the experience to your liking.

Alter Text Highlight, Enable Auto-scroll & More

Auto-scroll Feature: As Pericles reads, the auto-scroll is activated, ensuring the currently narrated text remains in view. If the element being read moves out of sight, the page will automatically scroll to keep it visible.

Word Tracking: Toggle this feature to have specific words highlighted as they're read. Please note, this is available only for certain voices.

Section Highlight: Activate this to emphasize the whole section being read, providing a broader context during narration.

Inline Player: This feature adds media controls directly on the reading page, giving you easy access to playback commands.

Disable Hotkeys: If you'd like to prevent accidental triggers or conflicts with other extensions, you can toggle off the hotkeys.

Quick Access Commands

Tailor Your Shortcuts: Modify the hotkeys for essential commands including 'start', 'play/pause', and 'next/prev' using the provided input fields.

Two-Key Combos Recommended: While setting up the hotkey to start the app, we advise using at least two key combinations for optimal performance. Should you opt for a single key, a warning will appear. However, the operation will proceed if you're adjusting for accessibility purposes.

Adapt to Your Aesthetics: Easily switch between Light & Dark modes to complement your visual preferences.

Need a Fresh Start? If you ever feel overwhelmed with customized settings or face unexpected issues, simply hit the Factory Reset button to restore default configurations.
